The developers of Star Citizen have been temporarily required to work without days off

Cloud Imperium Games studio has temporarily shifted to a seven-day work schedule. In an email to employees, the management stated that this is necessary for thorough preparation for the CitizenCon festival, which will take place on October 19.

Excerpts from the email were published by Insider Gaming. They mention that Cloud Imperium Games employees need to “double down” on content creation — they need to complete patch 3.24.2 for Star Citizen and a demo version of the action game Squadron 42 before CitizenCon.

The studio's management promised that on working Saturdays and Sundays, employees will be provided with free breakfast and lunch, and Monday, October 21, will be a day off. Later, developers will be given additional days off for the extra worked days.

Representatives from Cloud Imperium Games confirmed to Insider Gaming that the studio is foregoing weekends until the start of CitizenCon. They refused to comment further on the situation.
