Veterans of Electronic Arts have launched a new studio. They will be making racing games
A group of former Electronic Arts (EA) employees has founded a studio in Melbourne called The Three Thousands. It is led by Joseph Donoghue — the former general manager of EA’s Firemonkeys Studios, known for mobile games like Need for Speed: No Limits and Real Racing.
The leadership team of The Three Thousands also includes:
- Nikhil Kurian — former general manager of EA's division responsible for mobile racing game development;
- Benjamin Dawe — former creative director of EA Melbourne.
The new studio will focus on creating racing games. According to the developers, they aim to achieve a “unique blend of racing, pop culture, and next-gen digital experience” in their projects. The Three Thousands plans to release its debut game in 2025.
Additionally, The Three Thousands will assist other studios in game development. It has already signed initial agreements, though the partners have not been disclosed.
