Porcelain Fortress, the developer behind No Time To Relax, has secured $3 million in funding
Icelandic game developer Porcelain Fortress has secured $3 million in seed funding.
This funding round was spearheaded by Behold Ventures, Brunnur, and Crowberry Capital. The financial boost will support the development of the studio's upcoming game.
With this new investment, the company's workforce has expanded from four to 14 employees. Ingolfur Aevarsson, previously the director for customer acquisitions at CCP, has been appointed as CEO.
Porcelain Fortress is known for its first game, No Time To Relax, which has achieved sales exceeding 350,000 copies. The studio emphasized that July 2024 marked its highest sales month since the game's 2019 launch and it continues to have a substantial fan base.
The developer plans to reveal details about their next game in the near future.
Aevarsson stated: "Our team has demonstrated its ability to create engaging games with No Time to Relax, capturing entertaining and comical moments that resonate well with streaming audiences, an essential factor for reaching players today.
"Our previous game has garnered tens of millions of streams, forming the foundation for our new project. Additionally, the support from the Icelandic Technology Development Fund has been crucial, as our innovations would not have materialized without it."
