Airship Syndicate eliminates an additional 16 positions
Airship Syndicate has recently dismissed an additional 16 staff members.
This follows the departure of 12 employees in February 2024, marking a continuing trend of layoffs at the company.
According to a statement on LinkedIn from the CEO and president, "Due to the significant hurdles our sector faces, we've been forced to part with some highly skilled members of the Airship team, including 12 full-time staff and four contractors."
The company, which consists of 50 remaining team members, remains focused on executing the Wayfinder roadmap and working on new projects.
Last year, publisher Digital Extremes announced in November it was ceasing association with Wayfinder amidst its own layoffs. Consequently, Airship Syndicate assumed complete responsibility for the publishing of the game.
Established in 2014, Airship Syndicate operates out of Austin, Texas.
The recent layoffs bring the total number of industry job losses in 2024 to approximately 12,700.
