Playtika has purchased SuperPlay for a total of $700 million
Playtika has completed the purchase of mobile game developer Superplay, agreeing to a $700 million deal.
An additional payment of up to $1.25 billion may also be provided, contingent on Superplay meeting specific financial goals over the next three years. This extra amount will be financed through the cash generated by Playtika's operations and existing reserves.
The acquisition is anticipated to significantly contribute to Playtika's projected growth, with Superplay's existing titles like Dice Dreams and Domino Dreams, as well as two other projects under development.
Established by former Playtika employees Gilad Almog and Eyal Netzer, together with industry expert Elad Drory, Superplay will continue to operate as an independent studio under the leadership of Gilad and Eyal.
Playtika CEO Robert Antokol commented, "This acquisition is crucial for enhancing Playtika's dominance in mobile gaming, facilitating growth with scaled games and creating new opportunities."
He added that Superplay's skilled workforce and success in complex scenarios perfectly complement Playtika's team, enabling them to offer outstanding experiences to a global audience.
Almog and Netzer from Superplay stated, "We're thrilled about this chance, which honors our dedicated team who consistently deliver creative and passionate work. With Playtika's support, we'll continue to develop top-tier games and share knowledge to elevate each other's success."
Earlier in the year, Playtika disclosed plans to allocate up to $1.2 billion for mergers and acquisitions in the forthcoming three years. More details can be found here.
