TouchArcade set to close
After a 16-year run, TouchArcade has declared its closure.
Jared Nelson, the editor-in-chief, made this announcement on the publication's official site, citing financial issues as the reason behind the decision.
Nelson expressed, "Those of you who've been loyal followers of TouchArcade are likely aware of the financial challenges we've faced over the years. Honestly, it's surprising we've managed to continue this long."
He further explained, "Websites like ours no longer generate revenue. We've avoided intrusive advertisements, sensationalist headlines, and morally questionable partnerships—forms of revenue that unfortunately thrive in today’s digital landscape."
The existing content on TouchArcade will remain accessible indefinitely.
The team plans to keep their podcast, The TouchArcade Show, operational with the help of Patreon supporters. Established in 2015, these contributions had previously sustained the website's operations.
