Epic Games is preparing to debut its comprehensive Fab marketplace next month, amalgamating its separate game asset platforms.

Initially revealed at GDC 2023, this marketplace will integrate the Unreal Engine Marketplace, Sketchfab, ArtStation Marketplace, and Quixel into a singular hub.

Similar to the Epic Games Store model, developers will earn 88% of sales revenue. A special promotion of a full 100% revenue share will be available until the close of 2024.

Prior to the mid-October inauguration, Epic is inviting seasoned Unreal Engine asset developers to transition their offerings to the Fab Publishing Portal. New contributors and publishers will receive invitations to join in early October.

The Fab platform will completely replace the Unreal Engine Marketplace. Any assets not transitioned will be automatically included under an Unreal Engine Marketplace Licence.

Sketchfab Store will also be integrated into Fab "in the coming months," though the main site will continue to operate for users sharing 3D models.

ArtStation's marketplace will transition to Fab in 2025, but other features like portfolios and prints will remain on ArtStation.

Quixel's transition to Fab is also planned, yet a significant portion of its Megascans will no longer be freely available for unlimited Unreal Engine use post-2024. Epic has stated plans to "eventually discontinue" Quixel hosting.

Epic has emphasized its stance on AI transparency within the marketplace. Sellers must disclose if generative AI was utilized in asset creation.

Moreover, sellers can employ a 'NoAI' designation to indicate that an asset is excluded from AI training programs. Epic guarantees it will not use or permit others to use creators' content for generative AI training.
