In January 2025, Dutch Game Garden is set to cease operations.

The organization, which has long served as an incubator and cluster for game developers in the Netherlands, cited revised conditions in public funding opportunities as the reason for its closure.

The team explained that this shift has made it unfeasible to maintain a sustainable financial plan to continue their initiatives.

Throughout its 17-year history, the incubator program has aided over 130 developers, and more than 150 firms have utilized office space within its cluster.

Scheduled events, including networking lunches, will proceed as planned until operations conclude at the year's end.

Peter Laanen, chairman of the board, expressed deep regret at having to make this decision, stating, "We are proud of what we have achieved over the past 17 years and the effect that our efforts have had on the Dutch games industry. Unfortunately, we are now forced to close our doors, but we look back with satisfaction on everything we have accomplished together."
