Capcom's Resident Evil games for mobile platforms now mandate an internet connection
The popular horror franchise, Resident Evil, developed by Capcom, has introduced a new requirement for Apple device users: an internet connection is now necessary to play the games.
Community members on Reddit and other fan groups have raised concerns about this change affecting the iOS versions of Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, and Resident Evil 4. These games, known for their single-player horror experience, previously did not need an internet connection for gameplay.
Capcom stated that this shift is attributed to alterations in the app's startup procedure. Despite alerting players on social media about an upcoming patch, the company has not disclosed detailed information about this update and has not yet addressed the discontent from the gaming community regarding this new requirement.
In response, players are advising each other to avoid downloading the latest update or consider applying for refunds. Capcom has not provided a comment to the press regarding these developments.
