Nintendo of Europe has unveiled a new executive team, with Luciano Pereña ascending to the roles of president, CEO, and chairman, marking the end of an extensive reorganization. This move follows the retirement of Stephen Bole, who concludes his 35-year career including six years in this leadership position, according to Gamereactor.
Bole became Nintendo of Europe's COO and president in 2018, a result of former executive Satoru Shibata’s return to Japan. That same year, Pereña was elevated to the position of chief financial officer.
This leadership transition coincides with the consolidation of Nintendo’s European divisions—such as Nintendo France, Netherlands, and Iberica—under the umbrella of Nintendo of Europe SE, centralizing operations at the Frankfurt headquarters, while all local offices remain operational.
Additional organizational adjustments include the appointment of Laurent Fischer as chief operating officer, following his tenure as chief marketing officer. Fischer had been the managing director for nine years prior. Furthermore, Tom Enoki has taken on the role of senior managing director with responsibilities in corporate planning, having joined the senior ranks in 2022.
This restructuring is set against the backdrop of the upcoming announcement of Nintendo's next-generation console, which the company plans to reveal in this financial year, ending before April 1, 2025. Indications suggest its release will occur in the following fiscal year, as discussed on the GamesIndustry.biz Microcast.
