Thomas Koegler has been named the Chief Executive Officer of Asmodee
A significant leadership change took place at Asmodee today, with the Embracer Group naming Thomas Koegler as the company's new CEO.
Koegler has been part of the organization since 2015, holding various roles, the latest being deputy COO. He will now succeed Stéphane Carville on Embracer's executive management team.
Lars Wingefors, CEO and co-founder of Embracer, commented on Koegler's appointment: "Thomas' promotion to CEO at Asmodee and his addition to Embracer's executive team acknowledge his remarkable career within the industry and the company."
Wingefors added, "Thomas is an extraordinary leader who blends Asmodee's established legacy with a modern approach, ensuring growth and profitability for the company's future."
In December 2021, Embracer paid €2.75 billion to acquire Asmodee.
This year, Embracer declared its plan to split into three distinct entities, with Asmodee set to become a standalone company within a year.
Additionally, a board for the parent company Asmodee Group AB has been established. Wingefors will serve as board chair, with Kicki Wallje-Lund (chair of Embracer's board) as deputy chair. The board's composition includes:
- Stéphane Carville, former CEO of Asmodee
- Marc Nunes, founder of Asmodee and former COO
- Jacob Jonmyren, board member of Embracer
- Linda Höljö, COO and CFO of Pophouse Entertainment Group
Asmodee Group AB will be headquartered in Karlstad, Sweden, while the primary operational base for Asmodee will remain in Paris, France.
