Capcom sees the departure of Hideaki Itsuno
After a 30-year tenure with Capcom, Hideaki Itsuno has announced his decision to leave the company.
The veteran Japanese game director and designer disclosed his plans on social media, stating his intention to embark on creating a new game in a fresh setting. He expressed gratitude for the enduring support for his past projects and characters.
Itsuno conveyed his hopes for continued support for Capcom's games and reassured fans that from September onward, he aims to develop engaging and aesthetically pleasing games that could surpass the impact of his previous creations.
Beginning his career at Capcom in 1994, Itsuno initially joined the company's arcade division, later known as Production Studio 1 by 1997. His initial directing role emerged with Star Gladiator, which he joined midway through its development process.
Throughout his career, Itsuno contributed significantly to the Devil May Cry and Dragon's Dogma series. His final project for Capcom was Dragon's Dogma 2, which was recently released.
