NetEase is reportedly planning to close Ouka Studios, according to recent reports
According to a recent Bloomberg report, NetEase Games is reportedly planning to shut down Ouka Studios.
Insider information revealed that nearly all positions have been eliminated at the developer behind Visions of Mana, with only a few employees retained to manage the release of its last projects before closing.
Takashi Mochizuki, a journalist, mentioned on social media that the company has been reducing its workforce since the spring.
NetEase, responding to these claims, stated there was "nothing to announce" regarding the potential shutdown.
"In supporting studios outside China, we craft our strategy based on our goal of providing better gaming experiences to local and global players," the company commented. It further stated that it continuously makes "necessary adjustments to reflect market conditions."
Ouka Studios was established by NetEase in 2020, focusing on producing console games.
