Dragon's Dogma 2 sells 3 million copies in two months, improving its position among Capcom's best-selling games

Capcom has announced a new milestone for its latest action RPG, Dragon’s Dogma 2. The game has now reached 3 million copies sold globally.

“Thank you to the 3 million Arisen who have embarked on adventures in Dragon’s Dogma 2,” the developers wrote on X today.

Last month, Capcom announced that Dragon’s Dogma 2 reached 2.5 million copies sold in the first 11 days of its March 22 launch. This means the game took almost two months to sell another 500k units.

It is unclear how sales are split between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. But Capcom seems to be satisfied with the results, saying that Dragon’s Dogma 2 “has performed favorably” and calling it one of the main revenue drivers in the fourth fiscal quarter.

The 3 million milestone puts Dragon’s Dogma 2 in the top 40 best-selling Capcom games, on par with titles like DmC, the PS3/Xbox 360 version of Devil May Cry 4, and the PS4/Xbox One version of Resident Evil 6.

The entire Dragon’s Dogma IP has sold 11.7 million copies globally as of March 31, 2024. With the updated figures, the total could now exceed 12 million units. This includes the sales of the original game and the Dark Arisen version.

Despite mixed reviews from Steam players (especially at launch), Dragon’s Dogma 2 peaked at over 228k concurrent players on the platform. This is the 4th biggest debut among all 2024 releases, behind only Last Epoch (264.7k CCU), Helldivers 2 (458.7k CCU), and Palworld (2.1 million CCU).
