Sporty Group has completed the acquisition of Sociable Soccer
Sporty Group, known for its involvement in sports and betting entertainment, has taken over the football-themed game, Sociable Soccer.
Sociable Soccer serves as the modern successor to Jon Hare's beloved Sensible Soccer series. Its recent version, Sociable Soccer 24, is currently accessible on both PC and Nintendo Switch, with plans for additional console releases later in the year.
Jon Hare expressed his pride in his gaming achievements during an interview with VentureBeat, stating, "Having directed two independent gaming studios that have generated numerous successful original IPs over five decades, and selling both businesses while still engaging with global fans, is no small accomplishment. Lately, game development and marketing have become notably intricate and competitive, making it difficult for titles to secure their audience."
He continued, "Joining forces with Sporty allows us to stick to our core strength—designing and creating popular games for numerous platforms and players. With Sporty's support, a thriving sports entertainment company, we are well-positioned to craft better games and widen our reach."
Sporty Group's Vice President of Business Development, Gregory Parsons, remarked, "To diversify Sporty Group's portfolio, we've been exploring incorporating a football video game into our ecosystem, delving into various options within the sector. When we met with Jon and his team, it was evident that our goals aligned, and we eagerly welcomed them to the Sporty family. We have ambitious plans for the future of Sociable Soccer, marking the start of an exciting journey."
