Ubisoft has reduced its workforce by 45 employees at its offices in the United States

Ubisoft has announced further job losses, affecting two of its studios in the United States.

A total of 45 positions have been eliminated at the company's San Francisco location and Red Storm Entertainment in Cary, North Carolina. Specific roles affected have not been disclosed.

In a statement to IGN, a Ubisoft representative stated, "Yesterday Ubisoft San Francisco and Red Storm Entertainment informed their teams of a restructuring that resulted in 45 employees leaving Ubisoft."

These adjustments were deemed essential for aligning with future business goals and development plans. Assistance, including severance and career support, is being offered to those impacted. Ubisoft expressed gratitude for their contributions.

Earlier, Red Storm Entertainment faced challenges when Ubisoft announced the cancellation of the mobile game Tom Clancy's The Division: Heartland in May. This news came along with the release of company's latest fiscal results, noting record-breaking net bookings and increased sales in 2023.

San Francisco's studio is noted for launching the online shooter XDefiant.

This marks the third set of layoffs Ubisoft has undertaken this year. Previously, in October, the company cut 33 positions at its Toronto site and had let go 45 personnel from its global publishing and Asia-Pacific divisions in April.

In November 2023, Ubisoft laid off staff within its VFX and IT teams, following an earlier dismissal of 60 employees from customer service in May 2023.
