Scottish Games Week has officially announced a hiatus for the year 2024.

The premier B2B gaming event in Scotland has decided to cancel this year's gathering, citing "disruption across the video game ecosystem and the political climate in 2024" as the primary reasons.

Organizers confirmed that the event will make a comeback in October 2025, promising a more extensive and varied lineup to support the entire video game sector.

Brian Baglow, the founder and director of Scottish Games Week, remarked, "Disruption across the video games ecosystem and political landscape in 2024 means that ongoing delays in funding and support have been significant. Rather than risk delivering something substandard or jeopardize the future of the event and organization, we're hitting pause in 2024. We will bring Scottish Games Week back in 2025, bigger, better, and more creative than ever."

The team behind Scottish Games Week is actively seeking partners, sponsors, and advisors for the 2025 event.

With over a year to prepare, Baglow welcomed collaboration from potential partners of various types: "With over a year to plan and organize Scottish Games Week 2025, we welcome approaches from partners of all kinds."
