Epic Games launched its app store on mobile devices

Epic Games has announced the launch of the mobile version of the Epic Games Store. The store has been released globally on Android and in European Union countries on iOS. It was made possible to launch it on iOS thanks to the Digital Markets Act (DMA).

Currently, the mobile Epic Games Store library includes three games: Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe.

During a press conference, Epic Games Store General Manager Steve Allison announced that third-party developer games will be available in the store by the end of 2024. According to him, Epic Games is in talks with “almost every” one of the 250 leading mobile developers. While they are "very enthusiastic" about launching the store on Android, many are still unsure about releasing their games on iOS outside the App Store.

Allison hopes that next year the iOS version of the Epic Games Store will launch in Japan and the United Kingdom, and eventually in all other countries. However, this depends on Apple's policies and the legislation of the countries.

Epic Games is aiming for 100 million downloads of the mobile Epic Games Store by January.
