The Nexus 7 is the most profitable Android tablet for developers
The TinyCo studio, known for projects like Tiny Village and Tiny Monsters, really enjoys comparing the profits it receives from various markets. This time, the company went a bit further by taking a close look at the revenue from the Nexus 7 tablet.
As a result of a small study, the studio's developers found that the ARPU of their projects on the Nexus 7 is 50% higher than that of the average Android tablet. In addition, users of the Nexus 7 are 50% more likely to purchase IAP in-game compared to users of other Android tablets.
While only 15% of TinyCo users with Android tablets use the Nexus 7, they generate 30% of the revenue from all "robot" tablets.
Overall, the customer retention rate on the Nexus 7 is 20% higher than that of other Android tablets. It's important to note, however, that TinyCo does not compare the Nexus 7’s figures with those of Amazon tablets. This is fair, given that Google Play and the Amazon Appstore are quite different from each other.
