Konami's Powerful Pro Baseball claimed the top spot in July according to Japan's monthly charts

In July, Konami's latest entry, Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025, became Japan's top-selling game, achieving 260,000 units sold within two weeks of its release on July 18.

The game, available on both Switch and PS4, outperformed its predecessor eBaseball Powerful Pro Baseball 2022, which had sold 202,000 units according to the newest figures from Famitsu.

Meanwhile, Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, which was the previous top-seller, dropped to second place with 71,000 copies sold, while Mario Kart 8 returned to fourth place, selling 37,000 units. Another new entry, Nintendo World Championships: NES edition, quickly secured a spot in the top five with 36,000 units sold since its July 18 debut.

Notably, Luigi's Mansion 3 reached over one million in lifetime sales, securing the 12th spot as it added another 16,000 units in July.

Nintendo continued to lead as the best-selling publisher, holding 33.5% of the market and generating ¥2.4 billion in sales. Konami, largely thanks to Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025, surged to second place with a 29% market share and ¥2 billion in sales.

The Switch remained the most popular platform, accounting for 84% of sales with 995,391 boxed games and leading hardware sales with 229,316 units sold across all three models. The PS5 followed with 125,000 units sold, while 13,756 units of the Xbox Series X|S were purchased.
