A group of former developers from IO Interactive and Plarium have come together to establish Chamo Games
Developers who previously worked on games like Raid: Shadow Legends and Hitman have established a new company named Chamo Games.
Chamo Games was launched in September 2023 by Zoher Toutanji, who previously served as COO at IO Interactive, and Roberto Schiavulli, former creative director at Plarium.
The studio operates from Malmö, Sweden, but its 25-member team works remotely. The team includes veterans from companies such as Riot Games, CD Projekt Red, and Ubisoft. Chamo is currently developing a "non-lethal FPS" and plans to conduct monthly playtesting sessions.
Although the studio has not disclosed specific funding information, it is financially supported by Lakestar, Sisu Game Ventures, and Griffin Gaming Partners.
"Chamo Games is more than a studio; it’s a community dedicated to crafting innovative gameplay experiences," said Toutanji in an interview with VentureBeat. "We’re eager to share our upcoming project that pushes the boundaries of gaming genres."
Schiavulli emphasized their focus on player enjoyment and team welfare, stating, "Our diverse team is united in our vision to elevate PC and console gaming to new heights. Our first project is an unconventional game of skills, but it is also super fun."
