The game "High on Life" is set to be adapted into an animated series
The video game High on Life from Squanch Games is set to be transformed into an animated comedy series.
According to Deadline, JB Smoove, known for his role in Curb Your Enthusiasm and for voicing a character in High on Life, will produce the adaptation through Alternate Side Productions. There is a possibility he might also appear in the series.
Mandy Bardisbanian and Russell Binder from Striker Entertainment, along with JB Smoove's company, will be executive producers on the project.
"High on Life is wild, weird, and wonderful, and the series is going to be that and more! Get ready to laugh your way through space with some unforgettable characters like myself! We are locked and loaded and ready to go!" Smoove stated.
Binder remarked, "It's a video game unicorn that is both laugh out loud funny and carries the perfect balance of action and story to keep players engaged, and demanding more. Celebrating the fact that JB Smoove is a voice in, and a fan of, the game, we felt like we didn’t have to look any further than partnering up with Alternate Side Productions to adapt this title. With DLC, merch, and a publishing program, High On Life is tailor made for multimedia storytelling and fan engagement."
In December 2022, High on Life achieved notable success as the largest Game Pass launch of the year. By April 2023, the game reached 7.5 million unique players, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz.
