The pre-seed funding round brought in $1.6 million for MixRift.

Investments were led by Outsized Ventures and Underline Ventures, with additional support from SOSV and private investors. MixRift plans to utilize this capital to enhance and launch new mixed reality games.

The company was established by Bobby Voicu, the former CEO of MavenHut, along with David Pripas, previously with Augmented Studios, and Andrei Vaduva, who was a lead engineer at Green Horse Games. The trio had previously collaborated at MavenHut Games.

MixRift has launched titles including "Fractured" for Meta Quest and Apple Vision Pro, and "Hell Horde" for Meta Quest. Additional games are expected to be released later this year.

Voicu remarked, "We're just scratching the surface of the potential of mixed reality for gamers. There is a significant untapped market, and our team is well-versed in creating engaging games for this audience, positioning us uniquely to seize this opportunity."

He further stated, "We focus on quickly prototyping and releasing games to obtain user feedback swiftly. This approach enables us to refine successful titles and discontinue those that aren't resonating. This investment allows us to pursue this strategy and reflects the confidence experienced investors have in our vision."
