2weeks secures $1.25 million in pre-seed financing
Newly established studio, 2weeks, has successfully secured $1.25 million in pre-seed capital.
Leading this round was A16Z, which also incorporated 2weeks into its accelerator program named Speedrun.
The funding round saw contributions from Anorak Ventures, Blue Heron Ventures, Brendan Iribe, Ben 'CohhCarnage' Cassel, Art Min, Nate Mitchell, Nirav Patel, and Jamie Stormbreaker.
The obtained funds are earmarked for advancing several projects at 2weeks, which specializes in creating short experimental, web-based games.
The public learned about 2weeks' formation in late June. The studio is the brainchild of AAA industry veterans Brandon Dillon and Richard Foge, and it has already introduced its first brief game, Homestretch Bet.
Earlier in the year, A16Z revealed its third annual accelerator initiative, allocating $75 million to nurture pre-seed game startups.
