Jan Richter has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of Sixteen Tons Entertainment
Sixteen Tons Entertainment announces a change at the top, as Ralph Stock steps down from his position, and Jan Richter assumes the role of CEO.
Richter, who joined Sixteen Tons Entertainment this month, arrives from ZeptoLab, where he held the position of head of product and design. Over almost two decades, his career has also included roles at Mighty Bear Games, Bigpoint, and SnapDragon Games.
Founded by Ralph Stock in 1993, Sixteen Tons Entertainment is best known for its Emergency series.
Reflecting on his tenure, Stock stated, "I have immense gratitude and some pride for the past thirty years, during which we've crafted innovative games that players around the globe enjoy. With the Emergency series, we've introduced new concepts to the real-time strategy genre and built a lasting brand.
"I am delighted to transfer the studio's leadership to Jan. It is comforting to know my life's work will be continued by Phoenix and Sixteen Tons. I eagerly anticipate more successful games from this talented team."
Richter expressed his enthusiasm: "I am thrilled to lead Sixteen Tons Entertainment and carry forward Ralph's incredible legacy. Leveraging my experience in F2P and mobile gaming, I am eager to contribute to the studio's growth and help it reach new achievements."
In January 2020, Phoenix Games acquired Sixteen Tons Entertainment.
