Capcom Report: Revenues have significantly declined, but the company remains optimistic
Capcom released its first-quarter financial report for 2024, which ended on June 30. Below are the key figures.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
- Net sales for the quarter totaled 29.6 billion yen (192.5 million dollars). Compared to the previous year, this figure decreased by 32.5%.
- Capcom's operating profit fell by 46.4% to 12.9 billion yen (83.8 million dollars). Net profit decreased by 45.1% to 9.97 billion yen (64.8 million dollars).
- According to Capcom, revenues dropped because there were no strong releases in April-June 2024, unlike the same period last year. Recall, the company released Street Fighter 6 at that time.
- During the quarter, the company sold 9.53 million copies of games. A year earlier, it reported 13.5 million copies sold. Digital sales accounted for 93% of total game sales.
- Despite everything, Capcom is confident that it will set new financial records by the end of the year. The company still expects net sales of 165 billion yen (1 billion dollars) and an operating profit of 64 billion yen (416 million dollars).
