Humble Games has denied the closure of the company. It is undergoing a restructuring

On July 23, several former Humble Games employees posted on social media that the publisher's management decided to lay off all 36 workers and shut down the company. Soon after, Humble Games issued a rebuttal.

In a statement to the media, the company announced that it has started a restructuring process, during which layoffs have indeed occurred. Humble Games declined to disclose the extent of the layoffs but emphasized that it will continue to operate. The company also indicated that the restructuring will not affect the operations of Humble Bundle nor impact upcoming game releases, including Monaco 2 and Wizard of Legend 2.

However, things might not be so straightforward. Former Humble Games creative director Chris Radley took to LinkedIn to urge people not to believe the publisher's statement. According to him, Humble Games is only officially open. The entire staff has been laid off, and all responsibilities have been transferred to an external consulting firm. According to the Aftermath portal, this firm is The Powell Group. Journalists add that Ziff Davis, which owns Humble Games, decided to disband the publisher due to rising costs and delays in the release of new games.
