Capcom will not abandon physical editions of games
The global share of physical game sales is gradually declining, yet Capcom does not plan to discontinue releasing games on discs and cartridges. The company announced this during a Q&A session at a shareholders' meeting.

The company explained that many gamers still prefer to purchase physical editions of games. They see demand, so they are not rushing to switch to digital-only releases.
It is worth noting that Capcom earns significantly more from digital sales than from physical game editions. For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2020, 80.6% of Capcom's games were sold in digital format. Last year, the company increased this figure to 90.1%, and next year they intend to raise it to 93.2%.
