Warner Bros. has completed the acquisition of the game development studio, Player First Games, known for creating MultiVersus
Player First Games, the team behind MultiVersus, has been purchased by Warner Bros. Games.
According to Variety, the studio will continue to be led by its founders, Tony Huynh and Chris White, who will now report to Carlos Barbosa, the head and VP of Warner Bros. Games San Diego.
"We have collaborated with Player First Games for years to develop and launch MultiVersus, and we are thrilled to bring this talented team into Warner Bros. Games," commented David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Games.
Haddad noted that the addition of the Player First team enhances their development capabilities.
Huynh expressed their excitement, saying, "Joining Warner Bros. Games is a great step for MultiVersus and our team. Being directly integrated with the publisher will help us make the game even better for players."
MultiVersus, a free-to-play platform brawler, was launched on May 28 and features popular characters like Garnet from Steven Universe, Harley Quinn, and Lebron James.
