Netflix plans to release at least one game per month

The co-CEO of Netflix, Greg Peters, announced at an investor meeting following the second quarter of 2024 that the gaming division of the service is rapidly growing. Netflix's catalog already features over 100 games, with 80 more in development.

Starting in July, Netflix plans to release at least one game per month. These will primarily be various visual novels for the Netflix Stories hub. Peters admitted that such games are easier to produce.

Peters added that the strategy of releasing games based on popular movies and series is working well. Currently, Netflix is working on at least three such projects. These include games based on "Emily in Paris," "Squid Game," and "Selling Sunset."

According to data from the analytics service AppMagic, as of today, users worldwide have downloaded Netflix games from the App Store and Google Play over 200 million times. The most downloaded game is GTA: San Andreas, with 17 million downloads.
