"ROSA" has requested a billion rubles to create a Russian gaming console

According to "Vedomosti," the company announced this amount during a meeting at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. They asked the authorities to support their initiative and assist with funding.
"The meeting did not clarify what exactly the requested amount is needed for or how it is broken down. We understood that the government will not be financing the project alone," said the head of the RVI association, Vasily Ovchinnikov, in a comment to "Vedomosti."
According to the newspaper, Russian authorities hope that businesses will contribute to creating the console alongside the state. It is also reported that authorities are "categorically against" investing in consoles based on AOSP (Android Open Source Project, an open Android platform) and agree to support only devices on domestic operating systems. It is worth noting that "ROSA" plans to use its Linux distribution called Rosa Fresh for the console.
