GAME is allegedly planning to cease the sale of physical currency cards
Reportedly, UK retailer GAME will discontinue selling physical currency cards in their stores.
According to GamesIndustry.biz and its affiliate Eurogamer, while in-store generated digital codes printed on receipts will still be available, POSA (point of sale activated) cards are being withdrawn "within a matter of weeks".
This update indicates that customers will no longer be able to buy top-up cards for platforms like Nintendo eShop, Roblox, or iTunes in the store.
Eurogamer suggests that the decision is related to the Frasers Group’s till software system.
As of now, POSA cards do not appear on GAME's online store.
GAME has not provided any comments in response to Eurogamer's inquiries.
Recently, we covered an update that GAME will cease accepting in-store pre-orders for future game releases starting August 1, although online pre-orders will still be available.
