Capcom and Shawn Layden have been officially announced for Gamescom Asia 2024
Gamescom Asia's organizers have unveiled the initial lineup of speakers and exhibitors for this year's event, which features ex-PlayStation executive Shawn Layden and a returning Capcom.
The convention will take place at Singapore's Suntec Centre between October 17 and 20.
Capcom has been announced as the first major company to join the exhibitor list, bringing along a selection of their latest titles and hosting the Street Fighter 6 esports competition, Capcom Pro Tour 2024 Super Premier Singapore.
Other confirmed games include Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Terratech Worlds, First Dwarf, and JDM: Japanese Drift Master. The event expects to host over 150 exhibitors in total.
Shawn Layden is set to lead the business conference with a discussion on his views and forecasts for the video game industry's future.
Other notable speakers include Snow Rui, president and CFO of Hooded Horse, Jaeho Hwang, game director of Dave the Diver, along with representatives from CD Projekt Red, Riot Games, Rovio, Sega, Team 17, among others.
The entertainment stage for consumers will feature personalities such as Andrew Wincott, the voice behind Raphael in Baldur's Gate 3, and J-pop artist Shihori, known for her recent appearance in Mobile Legends Bang Bang.
Now in its fourth year, Gamescom Asia 2024 anticipates drawing over 40,000 attendees. GamesIndustry.biz will be present as a media partner, supported by the event organizers.
