Game developer Volley, specializing in voice-controlled entertainment, has successfully concluded its Series C fundraising round, securing $55 million

Game developer Volley has finalized its Series C funding, amassing $55 million.

This advancement builds on the firm's Series A round in 2020 and Series B round in 2022, both spearheaded by Lightspeed Venture Partners.

The latest round was jointly led by Microsoft’s M12 Ventures and Lightspeed, with contributions from Causeway Media Partners, General Catalyst, Amazon Alexa Fund, BITKRAFT, Y Combinator, Boost VC, Alumni Ventures, Waverley, Gaingels, and Riverside.

Established in 2016 by Max Child and James Wilsterman, Volley claims the top position as the highest-grossing AI-driven game company and is the foremost developer of AI-based games for smart TVs and Alexa devices, engaging over 5 million users monthly.

Volley employs advanced technologies such as speech recognition, natural language processing, large language models, and speech synthesis to provide "seamless, simple, joyful entertainment."

CEO Max Child stated, “This recent funding will accelerate our creation of new voice-controlled, AI-driven games.”

He added, “Large Language Models and other upcoming voice AI technologies enable us to develop entirely new game genres that were previously unimaginable. We're excited to expand our game portfolio and attract new users with the backing of Microsoft and Lightspeed.”
