Ghost of Tsushima was the best-selling game in the United States in May
The analytics company Circana released a report on the U.S. gaming market for May. Below are the key points from the report.

- In May, U.S. residents spent a total of $3.97 billion on video games, gaming hardware, and accessories. Compared to May 2023, their spending decreased by 6%.
- Video game sales amounted to $3.62 billion (-3%), hardware sales were $202 million (-40%), and accessory sales were $148 million (-8%).
- PlayStation 5 led the console market in both dollar sales and units sold. The PlayStation Portal was the top-selling accessory for May in terms of dollar sales.
- The top 5 best-selling premium games of the month included Ghost of Tsushima, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Helldivers 2, and MLB: The Show 24. Analysts noted that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, released on May 21st, only ranked 37th among the best-sellers.
