Filming has commenced for Ubisoft's adaptation of Watch Dogs into a feature film
The film adaptation of "Watch Dogs" has officially commenced filming.
On Wednesday, Ubisoft shared a photo on social media featuring a clapboard from the movie's set. The project, announced over ten years ago, is now in motion.
The movie is being directed by French filmmaker Mathieu Turi, with New Regency Productions backing it.
Earlier this year, Deadline revealed that the script was penned by Christie LeBlanc, known for Netflix's "Oxygen", with Victoria Bata contributing revisions.
Deadline also mentioned that Australian actress Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me) was in talks to join the cast, which was later confirmed in June alongside Tom Blyth, who recently appeared in "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes".
Margaret Boykin, Ubisoft Film & Television's head of content, will produce the film in collaboration with New Regency.
The announcement of the Watch Dogs film adaptation dates back to June 2013, predating the release of the first game in May 2014. The most recent installment, "Watch Dogs Legion," came out in 2020 to mixed reviews.
