BeReal undergoes staff reductions in the wake of its acquisition by Voodoo

BeReal is undergoing a series of job cuts in the wake of its acquisition by Voodoo.

COO Romain Salzman announced on LinkedIn that 28 team members from the engineering, quality assurance, and marketing departments were let go, focusing more on talent based in France and Europe.

In the previous month, Voodoo completed the purchase of BeReal for €500 million, appointing Aymeric Roffé, Wizz's CEO, as the new head in place of the app's original CEO and founder, Alexis Barreyat.

"In our efforts to prioritize the next phase of BeReal's development in a sustainable manner, we had to make the tough decision to part ways with some staff members," stated the company, as reported by PocketGamer.

"We are offering support to those affected and deeply appreciate their efforts. Our dedication to BeReal's core mission and principles remains steadfast."
