Nintendo is planning to address the issue of scalping for its upcoming Switch successor by ensuring that there is sufficient supply to meet consumer demand
In an effort to curb scalping issues, Nintendo has revealed its strategy for the release of the next iteration of the Switch: ensuring adequate supply to fulfill consumer demand.
During a Q&A at a shareholder meeting, as noted by VGC, President Shuntaro Furukawa reassured investors that Nintendo will produce sufficient units to deter resellers.
Furukawa also pointed out that the semiconductor scarcity, which had negatively impacted sales in 2022, is no longer a concern for the company, a point further discussed in GamesIndustry.biz.
"Currently, we believe that the lack of components won't significantly affect the production of our next model," Furukawa stated.
In May, Nintendo clarified that although the exact timing of the next console's release is still undecided, an announcement is expected by April 2025, according to GamesIndustry.biz.
