In Russia, it was proposed to check video games for "forming deviant behavior"
In the Russian parliament, it was advised that the government should strengthen control over video games and develop additional mechanisms for their examination. The parliamentarians believe that foreign states may use video games for propaganda among Russian gamers.
World of Tanks
The proponents of the idea pointed out that video games are often used to create a negative image of Russia. As an example, they mentioned World of Tanks, where "Russian tanks are always inferior to Western ones and constantly break down," and top players often turn out to be Russophobes.
The parliament wants video games to be checked for "the formation of deviant behavior and the erosion of legal culture among children and youth." It is proposed to ban the distribution of games with propaganda in Russia.
