The winners of the WN Game Finder Contest have been announced

During the conference WN Istanbul’24, which concluded last week, a competition for the best game development was traditionally held. Find out who the winners are in our article.

As a reminder, a competition is held at every WN as part of the developer exhibition to select the best game of the event. The pool of top projects is curated by the service Game Finder, and the winners are then selected by an expert jury. This time, the jury included:

  • Gareth Brown — Lead Technical Artist at Playstudios;
  • Nick Phipps — Lead Game Designer at Ubisoft Abu Dhabi;
  • Austin Malcolm — Senior Brand Manager at Saber Interactive;
  • Justin Burnham — Managing Director at 3D Realms;
  • Tiziano Giardini — Program Director at Quickload;
  • Elena Morina — Founder and CEO of Ravenage.

Winners were determined in four categories. Let's focus on them.

In the best game design category, the pixel life simulator To Pixelia (Pixeduo Studios, Turkey) won. In this game, players can engage in gardening like in Stardew Valley, become criminals and drive cars like in the first two GTA games, beg for alms, or even become the president.

The award for best art went to Project ST (The Breach Studios, Spain). It’s a third-person PvPvE shooter with a cartoony style. Key features include the ability to control and battle with giant robots.

The best storytelling was awarded to the adventure game Leila (Ubik Studios, Turkey). The game tells the story of an "ordinary woman" trying to make sense of her life. In addition to hand-drawn graphics, the project is marked by a large number of puzzles and mini-games.

As for the key category, namely the grand prize, it was awarded to To Pixelia.

The competition sponsor this time was the mobile game and app developer JustMoby. A reminder: the studio's key project is Raft Survival: Ocean Nomad, which has an audience of over 100 million people.
