New game development studio The Unreal Guys has officially launched
Veterans of the gaming industry, Rik Alexander, Myke Parrott, and Ryan Woodland have unveiled their new co-development firm, CodeDev - The Unreal Guys.
Specializing in Unreal Engine, this new enterprise will be managed remotely from London, UK.
Founder of the games recruitment company Game Logic, Myke Parrott, will assume the role of CEO. Rik Alexander, ex-CEO of The Multiplayer Guys and founder of Super Punk Games, will serve as chairman. Ryan Woodland, who has a background with Nintendo and Microsoft, will be CTO.
Alexander noted that the impetus for starting the studio stemmed from the trend of developers of varying sizes increasingly adopting a co-development strategy.
"I've collaborated with Myke and his recruitment firm for a considerable time. Given the evolving nature of the industry, we believed this was the opportune moment to collaborate closely and establish a studio capable of rapidly assembling, scaling, and deploying expert teams," he remarked.
Adding to that, Parrott shared: "From my perspective in recruitment, I've closely monitored job market fluctuations. Even though we're not entirely out of the rough patch, there are glimpses of hope for the gaming industry, making this the ideal moment to introduce The Unreal Guys."
