Amazon secures first title from Maverick Games, a studio founded by former members of Playground
Amazon is set to publish the first game from Maverick Games.
The game, which remains unnamed, will be an open-world driving adventure enriched with a strong narrative and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Jamie Brittain, co-creator of the TV series "Skins," will serve as the lead writer for the project.
Established by former Playground Games' leaders in January 2023, Maverick Games is managed by COO Harinder Sangha and creative director Mike Brown. The studio, located in Warwick, UK, comprises around 60 employees.

Last week, Amazon Games revealed the establishment of a new studio in Bucharest, headed by former Ubisoft managing director Cristian Pana.
Additionally, Amazon recently secured an agreement with Embracer to produce a new Tomb Raider series and laid off 180 employees in its games division in November.
