The autobiography of John Romero is set to be adapted into two separate versions
John Romero's memoir will be transformed into a television series and a documentary.
According to a report from Deadline, the adaptation of 'Doom Guy: Life in First Person' into a documentary will be helmed by Rob McCallum, renowned for his work on 2023’s Mr. Dressup: The Magic of Make-Believe.
While the series adaptation has yet to find a director, both projects will be overseen by Naomi Harvey, who will act as executive producer under Golden Possum Productions.
Romero's book, published in 2023, chronicles his journey from childhood, through the founding of Id Software, to his current role as the chief creative officer of Romero Games, a company he established in 2014. Renowned as the creator of first-person shooters, Romero has left a significant mark on the gaming industry.
Romero mentioned, "In my conversations with Rob and Naomi, I immediately felt they were the ideal team to bring Doom Guy's story to life. Our shared experiences and goals are remarkably aligned, and I am confident in their ability to narrate this tale."
