Worldwalker Games announces it is entering a period of dormancy

Worldwalker Games, the creators behind Wildermyth, will be pausing operations for an indefinite period.

In an update posted on social media, Nate Austin, co-owner of the studio, announced that active work on the 2021 role-playing game has wrapped up and no further content updates should be anticipated. Nevertheless, the game will still receive bug fixes, and the console version remains in progress.

Austin emphasized that this hiatus is not due to any negative factors but was always part of their schedule once the project concluded.

Despite this planned break, Austin mentioned that the company will be parting ways with several team members.

Austin expressed, "Wildermyth has been a fantastic journey, but all journeys end. We aimed to release [DLC] Omenroad, and having accomplished that, it’s time to move forward. This decision isn't influenced by Omenroad's performance."

He further explained, "As an independent studio, we don't report to investors. No external force is causing this pause. We are simply ending our current project."

Austin concluded by hinting at future endeavors, stating that the team is likely to find new projects to fuel their creativity and these will be shared with players when ready.
