Voodoo has purchased BeReal for €500 million
Social media platform BeReal has been purchased by Voodoo for €500 million.
Established in 2019, BeReal notifies users to post photos within a brief two-minute timeframe every day, with these posts vanishing after 24 hours.
Voodoo plans to assist BeReal in areas such as product strategy, user growth, and infrastructure enhancements, alongside investing in the development of new features.
Wizz CEO Aymeric Roffé will succeed Alexis Barreyat, BeReal's founder and current CEO. Barreyat will stay temporarily to aid in the transition and integration of the companies.
"BeReal has built impressive user loyalty and expansion," expressed Voodoo co-founder and CEO Alexandre Yazdi. "We're thrilled to combine our teams and use Voodoo's expertise and innovative technologies to transform BeReal into a platform centered around authenticity."
Barreyat commented: "Voodoo's history of advancing mobile apps positions them to guide BeReal towards a path of sustainable growth."
