Alexander Mikheev
"Currently, there are about 200 teams in Russia, working on games of various sizes and scales. Only 5-10 of them will definitely see their projects through to completion. Out of these 5-10, perhaps one game will be successful. This is the current state of Russian game development," Mikheev stated to the publication, additionally noting that it is a "small story that needs to be scaled and systematized."
In addition, Mikheev stated that:
- in 2025-2027, the first significant next-generation games targeting the Russian local market will be released;
- the "industry is young and quite marginal," with no systematic support in Russia;
- "almost 60% of IT professionals want to work specifically on games";
- "'Trouble' is a celebration of Russian game development. It is wonderful that the project happened at all. The fact that it happened with government support is doubly wonderful. Some were not afraid to give money, others were not afraid to take it, and the product was created."
