Judging by the numbers, the release of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile was not financially successful. But is it true?
On March 21, the mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone was released. According to AppMagic, the game earned $2.7 million in the first two weeks with 15 million downloads. For a project of this level, the release may seem commercially weak.

The dynamics of installations demonstrates a similar character. The level of downloads almost immediately reached the level of 1 million per day. On March 23, it reached a maximum of 2.2 million. After that, the purchase rapidly flew down.

If we compare these figures with the results of Call of Duty: Mobile, which was released on October 1, 2019, they seem weak. For comparison, she earned $14 million in the first two weeks.
The dynamics were different there. The game quickly reached the level of 1-1.5 million dollars per day and only by the end of the month it collapsed to the daily level of 400-600 thousand dollars. In total, the game will earn more than 1.5 billion dollars.

However, there were much more installations on the release of Call of Duty: Mobile. In the first two weeks, the game generated an impressive 68 million downloads. In total, the game was downloaded more than 86 million times in October.
But this direct comparison must be treated with caution. It is important to take into account that the novelty, unlike Call of Duty: Mobile, is positioned differently and interacts with the franchise on a completely different level.
One of the key features of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is the presence of cross—progress with the full version of Call of Duty: Warzone (the one that functions on PC and consoles). Compatible content and progressions from Call of Duty: Warzone are transferred to the mobile version and back. By content, we mean skins, weapon drawings, various cosmetics, and, of course, combat passes.
In other words, the core audience of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile does not need to spend separately in a mobile game. They can connect their desktop/console version account to it and transfer all achievements from there. Plus, they can also buy the same combat passes outside of mobile.
This can partly explain the low earnings of the new product against the background of the commercial success of Call of Duty: Mobile, which was developed by TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of Chinese Tencent.
By the way, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is Activision's own development. The project was handled by the studios involved in the development of the "big" version. We are talking about Beenox from Quebec, Activision Shanghai, Digital Legends from Barcelona and California's Solid State Studios.
