Investment company CVC Capital Partners is interested in Jagex studio, Sky News reports. According to the publication, she is negotiating the purchase of RuneScape developers with the Carlyle Group, which now owns the studio.

The estimated size of the deal is £900 million, or about $1.13 billion. CVC Capital Partners is expected to sign an agreement with the Carlyle Group in the coming days.
The Carlyle Group itself planned to get rid of Jagex. In September last year, Reuters sources found out that she wanted to sell the studio for £1 billion ($1.25 billion at the exchange rate at that time). At that time, it was reported that the potential buyer would most likely be just some investment company, which would then be able to use Jagex to buy smaller game studios.
If the deal does take place, CVC Capital Partners will become the fourth owner of Jagex. Before the Carlyle Group, the studio was owned by Macarthur Fortune (from 2020 to 2021) and Fukong Interactive (from 2016 to 2020).
