Enhrouded's survival has reached the million player mark in four days since its release
Steam users love survival games with crafting elements. Another confirmation of this was the excellent initial results of Enshrouded, which went into early access last week, on January 24.
Enshrouded
According to the official announcement of the Keen Games studio development team, the game's audience reached one million people in four days of sales. Considering that the game is currently available only on Steam, we can assume that this figure also indicates a similar number of sales.
The studio thanks the players for the warm welcome and notes that the team has huge plans. "We can't wait to continue developing the game with you, the goal is to make Enshrouded the best game possible," says Keen Games' official page on the social network X.
The title's grades are also doing well. Despite the fact that the game had a "Mixed" rating on release, it improved quite quickly. Now 84% of the game's ratings are positive.
Ensrouded is the second most successful launch on Steam in 2024 in terms of online. So far this year, only the phenomenal Palworld has performed better, whose online instantly flew into "space", to peaks accessible only to such absolute hits as PUBG, Dota 2 and Counter-Strike.
According to SteamDB, at the start of sales, Enhrouded reached the level of 70 thousand one—time players, and in the first weekend - 160 thousand. At the time of preparation of this material, the online game was 109 thousand players.
The dynamics of the Enshrouded Online
The initial performance of the Enshrouded online is comparable to that of other survival hits:
- Valheim — 502 thousand people;
- Sons of the Forest — 414 thousand people;
- ARK: Survival Evolved — 248 thousand people;
- Rust — 245 thousand people;
- V Rising — 150 thousand people;
- Raft — 101 thousand people;
- ARK: Survival Ascended — 98 thousand people;
- The Forest — 78 thousand people.
What distinguishes Enhrouded from other similar titles is the wide portfolio of the developer studio. Founded in 2004, the German studio managed to mark itself both in the genre of economic strategies for PC (Anno 1701), and in the niche of classic adventure games (Secret Files series), and as a mobile developer (Royal Revolt series).
The survival genre is also not new for Keen Games. In 2017, the studio released the warmly received multiplatform Portal Knights (about 16 thousand reviews and a peak online of 8 thousand people on Steam).
Portal Knights
In 2021, Keen Games raised $10 million to develop Enshrouded. The key investors were Tencent together with the investment fund Hiro Capital. Then it was said that the money would go to the "spiritual successor of Portal Knights".
The game is also being created with the support of the German federal budget.
By the way, as of November last year, Enshrouded was in the top 20 most anticipated games on Steam.
