The number of gaming teams continues to grow in Turkey. It became known about the launch of Pine Games. The studio, which is based in Istanbul, will create casual games using original IP for mobile devices.
Pine Games has already passed the pre-seed round of investments. During it, she raised $2.25 with a combined valuation of $10 million. The round was led by venture capital firms Emerging Europe and Laton Ventures.
By the way, one of the investors was also Mert Gur, founder of Loop Games and creator of the casual hit Match 3D (80 million downloads and about $ 60 million in revenue). Earlier, Gur also had a hand in Race.io and Toy Blast.
So far, four people are working in the studio. The plans are to increase the team to 15 employees. Most of the employees, as well as Gur, managed to work on Turkish mobile blockbusters.
For understanding:
- The CEO of the new studio is Yankı Yağız Akpek, who was previously the product manager of Toy Blast;
- The art director of Pine Games, Yasin Yıldırım, one of the first developers of Dream Games, was responsible for the Royal Match style.
The studio is not going to immediately start creating a complex puzzle. At first, the team plans to create simple games.
